I am currently a Junior at Arizona State University studying Aerospace Engineering.

My goal is to one day become a "rocket scientist", to develop and work with space vehicles and rockets. My passion is working with teams of people to find unique solutions to any challenging issues.

I hope to one day become part of the society that makes humanity a multi-planetary species.

As a freshman entering the Daedalus Astronautics club, you are divided into two separate drag race teams. Each team is required to design and build a rocket from scratch, while being able to justify the design and explain the basic components of the rocket. The overall goal of this competition is to see which rockets can reach an altitude of 6,000 ft in the shortest amount of time. As a member of this team, I learned a lot of the basic components of the rocket as well as applied my knowledge and created one in the lab. For example, we spent several weeks learning things about the center of gravity, center of pressure, thrust to weight ratios, etc. The rocket launch was a success and landed safely, even though it was a few seconds shy of winning the competition.

If any control is desired of a rocket in flight, it requires an attitude control system to spin and point it whatever way wanted. This idea has started a rather in depth project aimed at creating a perfectly vertical second stage separation for a maximum altitude competition and possibly a vertical landing of the first stage. Currently, the first main focus is to control and stop the spin of the rocket after launch. If the spin is contained, pitch and yaw can be performed, which will enable complete control. This project is still in progress
